Upon reflection, taking baby steps in adulthood can be shakier for oneself than for a little itty bitty taking his/hers for the first time. (probably because the little person doesn’t have expectations) Many of us adults have had to start over either physically and/or emotionally at some time in our lives. Now I’m at a point where I’m facing the need for baby steps with my ailing Big Red. Next week I’ll be giving him a two minute lunge to observe his respiration rate and how he recovers. I’m feeling uncertain about this, because I worry how he’s going to respond, physically. If he does okay, I’ll continue on every day to test his strength and respiration. Of course, if he shows distress, I need to re-evaluate what route we take. I just need to go forward one step:
